We've been playing with geometric shapes this week. Diamonds and triangles are favorites in the art area. These shapes are on the floor near the art area, and children have been outlining and filling them with blocks, counting, and predicting.
We've been doing some experiments with water and oil this week. That's not actually hot lava--it's oil, water, and food coloring! We mixed and played and observed their resistance to mixing, dramatized by color.
When we were done experimenting, we made marbled paper by pressing a piece of paper gently on top of the mixed oil and water.
One donated calendar had photographs of animals dressed as people! We glued them to paper bags and turned them into puppets!
