Our Listening Walk

Inspired by the sound of the wind outside our school, we went on a listening walk on Thursday.  We listened hard, and heard:

Cars, and one engine starting up.

A yellow bird cheeping at a bird feeder.

Leaves skittering.

Branches skuttering together.

A tin can rolling downstairs.

Our neighbors’ footsteps.

A crow calling out “Leave!  Leave!”

Wind chimes that sounded like tinkling music and cymbals.

And the children thought maybe we heard a dolphin and a peregrine falcon.  This was unconfirmed by teachers.
